Recent Unsolved Murders 2019

Although the current amount of cold case homicides in the US may seem overwhelming, with continuous advancements in DNA technology as well as changes in law enforcement and forensic protocols, cold cases are continuing to be solved. The cases included on Uncovered’s cold case website include unsolved murders and missing persons as well as suspicious deaths, most of which are at least three years old, in order to avoid affecting law enforcement’s investigations into these cold cases. Uncovered’s mission is to build a comprehensive platform to combine data, analytics, and the wisdom of the community in order to help solve cold cases of missing and murdered people.

We aim to visualize cold cases that are at least three years old, as to avoid negatively effecting law enforcement’s investigation, although we do make occasional acceptions for cases where law enforcement acknowledges that a specific case is cold and asks the community for help. A couple of examples of recent unsolved murders in 2019 you can find on our website include the murder of Kaysera Stops Pretty Places, the murder of Elizabeth Barraza, and the murder of Najah Ferrell, in addition to the disappearance of Chance Englebert, and the disappearance of Aubrey Dameron, all of which occurred in 2019.

As for a few examples of the several unsolved mysteries that have finally been solved, recently solved cases in 2020, and recently solved cold cases in 2021 include the 1985 murder of Savannah Hoskins, the 1995 murder of Christopher Dailey, the 1992 murder of James Essel, and the 1981 murder of Mary London, in addition to a recent arrest in the 2012 murder of Faith Hedgepeth. Although we may hope that every missing person will be found alive and well, that’s unfortunately not always the case. A few well-known missing persons cases found alive include the 2018 abduction of Jayme Closs, the 2002 abduction of Elizabeth Smart, and the 2002 abduction of Michelle Knight, 2003 abduction of Amanda Berry, and 2004 abduction of Gina DeJesus, also known as the Cleveland Abductions.
