Does Carvana ask for proof of income?
Carvana performs an income verification to help calculate your yearly income and ensure we're providing you the correct financing terms to set you up for financial success with your vehicle loan. Carvana also performs an employment verification to confirm that you're an active employee at the company indicated.
You may be asked to submit proof of income and/or proof of employment during the purchase process. If you're self-employed, we require documentation to verify your income.
You can upload your 3 most recent, consecutive months of bank statements for your proof of income or address verification. We may also look at bank statements as part of your employment verification. You may be asked to submit bank statements during the purchase process.
What documents can I provide for proof of income? We will need your official employment offer letter along with your first pay stub in order to verify your income. Your offer letter must include your name, your employer's name, and your confirmed start date.
As long as you are 18 years or older†, make at least $5,100 per year, and have no active bankruptcies, you can finance your purchase through Carvana.
You can upload your 2 most recent, consecutive pay stubs for your proof of income or address verification. We may also look at pay stubs as part of your employment verification. You may be asked to submit pay stub documents during the purchase process.
Oftentimes, these lenders prefer customers that have a credit score of 700 or higher, or at least in the mid 600s. Carvana does not have a minimum credit score requirement and considers many factors, in addition to traditional credit score, in determining credit offers.
Funds verification is our way of verifying that funds are available for your purchase, the account information entered online is accurate, and that your bank is compatible with our system to process payment.
The underwriting timeline varies case-by-case. The review typically begins within about 24-48 hours of you uploading your documents, so if we're able to verify everything we need, it may be approved right away. However, we may need you to upload additional documents to complete verification after the intial review.
After completing your online order, we will begin our review process and send you a text and email when your order has been approved.
How do I provide proof of income if self-employed?
- Annual Tax Return (Form 1040) This is the most credible and straightforward way to demonstrate your income over the last year since it's an official legal document recognized by the IRS. ...
- 1099 Forms. ...
- Bank Statements. ...
- Profit/Loss Statements. ...
- Self-Employed Pay Stubs.
Some forms of proof include; pay stubs, bank statements, tax returns and financial statements. By staying organized, you'll be able to avoid any fines or legal burdens that may emerge if you can't provide legitimate documents of your income.
Proof of income
Print out a paycheck from within the past 45 days (some lenders prefer the last month), and make sure it includes year-to-date pay. If you're self-employed, dig up your past three months of personal bank statements.
Carvana has no minimum cutoff for credit score or credit history, and the required minimum income is low compared to other lenders.
CarMax: The Bottom Line. There are more similarities than differences when it comes to buying and selling cars through Carvana or CarMax. In general, you'll likely find a more convenient process when dealing with Carvana and the best price (whether buying or selling) with CarMax.
When you buy a car with Carvana, you forego a traditional test drive. Instead, you test drive the vehicle when it's delivered (we'll get to that later). If this scares you from proceeding, know that each Carvana vehicle comes with a seven-day money-back guarantee.
Income tax returns
If your business has been running for a while and you have been following all legal requirements then you should have annual tax returns with you. The tax returns for a given year will have a record of all your income and expenses for the year and it's an accepted proof of income.
A bank statement can help show a stable flow of income if you have a history of steady deposits and spending. This can help demonstrate your ability to pay to a lender or landlord. It's best to keep a separate account for business expenses so you don't confuse any transactions with your personal expenses.
Lenders typically look at your income to decide if you can pay back a car loan. So yes, your DoorDash earnings can help you finance a car, but through a bank or financial institution, not through DoorDash directly.
Your down payment is due before you schedule your appointment. When you arrive at the payment step in the purchase process, please ensure funds are available before proceeding. If you have a credit on your Carvana account from a previous purchase, you'll see this amount applied.
Does Carvana do a soft or hard pull?
Getting pre-qualified will not impact your credit in any way, as the terms we provide are generated using a soft inquiry from multiple credit bureaus. We complete a hard inquiry into your credit history during the purchase process.
If I get pre-qualified through Carvana, does it impact my credit? No. When you pre-qualify with Carvana, you see real, personalized terms without affecting your credit score. Though your terms will not change, we do complete a formal credit inquiry when you schedule your delivery or pickup.
We recommend this method, as it reduces the amount of time it takes for our underwriting team to approve your purchase. If you do not use Plaid, you will need to call Carvana so that we can initiate a 3-way call with your bank to confirm you have enough funds in your bank account.
We use Plaid to verify information that may be required when financing with Carvana. In most cases, Carvana is able to use Plaid as a method of verification to complete your purchase.
Don't worry! This won't affect your credit score. Your experience doesn't end when you get the keys. At Carvana, we give you peace of mind every step of the way.
